Digital radiographs are a type of x-ray that uses digital technology instead of film. They offer many advantages over traditional x-rays, including the ability to be stored electronically, enhanced and enlarged for better viewing, and easily shared with other veterinarians or specialists.
Digital radiographs are an important diagnostic tool for veterinarians, as they can provide detailed information about the structure and function of your pet’s internal organs. They can be used to diagnose a wide variety of conditions, including bone fractures, pneumonia, heart disease, and cancer.

Ultrasound offers a rapid and painless means to internally examine your pet. Frequently utilized to assess organs within the abdominal and chest regions, this technology aids in detecting various issues and illnesses.
Prior to an ultrasound, minimal preparation is needed. Pets may require mild restraints or sedatives to stay still. Conductive gel is applied to the skin, and a probe is gently moved across the area of interest, akin to human ultrasounds. The painless procedure is often relaxing for pets and lasts 30 to 45 minutes, sometimes leading them to fall asleep.

Following an injury, illness, surgery, or even natural aging, your pet may need a little help getting back to its old self. Rehabilitation is beneficial in treating many conditions and providing pain relief, aiding in recovery after surgery or injury and improving overall functional mobility. Unique treatment plans are designed around your pet's needs and your goals. The goal of rehabilitation therapy is to maximize recovery of your pet, reduce pain, improve overall function, and restore quality of life.
Your pet may benefit from veterinary rehabilitation services if they suffer from any of the following:
-
Arthritis or degenerative joint disease
-
Post-surgery recovery (Cranial Cruciate Surgery, Hip surgery, etc.)
-
Hip or elbow dysplasia
-
Muscle tears or tendonitis
-
Spinal injuries or surgeries
-
Neurologic conditions
-
Weight management
-
Geriatric weakness
Veterinary Rehabilitation works similarly to human physiotherapy where we utilize multimodal, noninvasive techniques to improve blood flow, promote cell healing, and help improve range of motion. We offer the following rehabilitation services:
Therapeutic exercises:
-
A targeted exercise program specific to each pet's condition and level of fitness. These exercises are focused on strengthening the muscles needed to maintain or improve function and overall quality of life for your pet, while also working on balance, range of motion, and foot placement.
Laser therapy:
-
Laser works by interacting with mitochondria and stimulating rapid repair of damaged cells. Laser therapy is very beneficial to reduce inflammation in the joints and promote healing after an injury. Laser can also be beneficial to help reduce pain associated with muscle spasms or trigger points.
Veterinary Massage and Manual Therapy:
-
Manual therapy is intended to increase range of motion, induce relaxation, mobilize soft tissue and joints, and help with pain. Massage therapy helps with circulation of fluids in the body, as well as helps reduce swelling. Massage also increases blood flow, lowers blood pressure, and improves cardiovascular health. The overall results of massage include reduced pain and stiffness, more flexibility, and a greater range of motion for your pet.
Electrical Stimulation:
-
Electrical Stimulation or "e-stim" is electrical impulses applied to a muscle group causing them to contract. The primary goal of e-stim is to stimulate your pet's muscles to help them maintain their muscle mass to prevent atrophy during a period of immobility. E-stim can also be used to aid in pain and help to reduce swelling.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF):
-
The electromagnetic pulses used in PEMF therapy naturally stimulate the cells to promote healthy cell function. PEMF for dogs is commonly used to treat pain, arthritis, inflammation, stiffness, bone injuries, and wounds. It has been used to treat ligament injuries, spinal cord injuries, and neurological conditions. Electromagnetic field therapy also relieves the pain and discomfort that many older dogs experience.
Land treadmill:
-
Land treadmill therapy works to enhance the usage of the muscles and upregulate brain activity. With various adjustable settings such as speed, inclination, and duration, treadmill work can be tailored to each individual's condition and physical ability.
Stance Analyzer:
-
Our cutting-edge Companion Stance Analyzer uses sensor plate technology to objectively measure your pet's weight distribution and balance. This innovative diagnostic tool tracks progress and customized therapies. The sensors detect the precise percentage of body weight placed on each limb, with normal dogs bearing about 30% on each front leg and 20% on each hind leg. Variations from these expected values can pinpoint orthopedic issues like arthritis, cruciate or elbow dysplasia, neuropathy, and more.
Assisted devices for pets:
-
Assisted devices can help your pet improve their mobility and confidence. Giving your pet who was previously immobile the ability to get up and go can be life-changing. These devices can include orthotics, mobility harnesses, braces, and wheelchairs.
Acupuncture for dogs and cats involves the placement of very small needles into precise locations on the animal body to cause therapeutic responses. Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years in China and beyond to treat a variety of diseases.
Acupuncture points are specifically located at junctions of large nerve bundles and blood vessels. Acupuncture stimulates these areas and results in:
• The release of pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory substances (including serotonin and norepinephrine)
• Improved tissue blood flow
• Improved oxygenation and removal of toxins
Peer-reviewed and journal-published studies have demonstrated that acupuncture can activate T-cell lymphocytes and boost the number of white blood cells in the body. This, in turn, can allow for a stronger immune system.
Acupuncture can be utilized in the treatment of:
